START Woolwich offers all the usual START facilities including café, exhibition space and meeting rooms, within a brand new fit out in the heart of the historic and prestigious Royal Arsenal development. The refurbished shell of a renovated steel framed Victorian building was acquired by START and the generous floor to ceiling heights enabled us to construct new mezzanine floors to provide more than 25,000 square foot of net lettable accommodation. A central atrium was created, which at first floor level now houses the Café START and a flexible exhibition area. The existing shell of the building was left as untouched as possible so that a clear distinction between the old building and the new interventions could be easily discerned.
