START has an established consultancy service that offers a wide range of complementary expertise in development, architecture, and the operation of innovation centres, serviced offices, science parks and related mixed use developments. Our tailor made packages assist universities, local authorities, landowners and developers combining traditionally separate disciplines through the advice and insight of an experienced management team and extensive network of advisors.

We combine traditionally separate disciplines and understand the balance needed between commercial and property concerns, and the creation of a supportive environment for growing, innovative companies. START has experience in providing space for start-up and growing businesses in a number of sectors, including the provision of wet laboratory space and has worked extensively with public bodies and universities. It is because we design, build and operate innovation centres ourselves that we are able to offer such exceptional advice to others on a range of different projects. START has co-authored with UKBI a design guide on the 'Bricks and Mortar Elements of Innovation Centres'. A copy of this guide is available through UKBI. START is also in the process of establishing and managing a seed capital fund to provide early stage finance to clients. This is initially financed by ProLogis for the project in Dartford and will be replicated throughout the START network.
