Customer relationships work best when they’re intimate and personal. You don’t want to be too distanced from your customers, but then again you shouldn’t be too clingy either. It’s important to know that you appreciate them, and are determined to give them the best possible service, but too much sales driven content may deter them over time.
Some customers will want you to leave them alone, they’ll come back to you when they need you, but then again, it’s these same customers that may need a gentle nudge to make them consider your products or services again.
The more you understand about your customers, the better. You can then give them the products, services and information that they want, and not what you think they require. Every single customer should be appreciated, and they should be shown appreciation and a little love, you’ll then earn their respect and perhaps more custom in return.
