START: development

START has accumulated years of experience as a property developer. For all our projects involving new or refurbished buildings we undertake the property development ourselves, from land acquisition and building procurement to design and construction management. We have established a rigorous system for ensuring best value, both for the landowner and operator. We also take on the ongoing management of the completed buildings.

We are actively looking for sites for new developments. These include:

• upwards of 1.5 acres (M4 and M3 corridors, Thames Gateway, M25, the north of England, and Edinburgh and Glasgow areas)
• land designated mixed use where there is a demand for training and/or employment use.
• up to 0.5 acre within residential areas, for our live/work local innovation centre

We have considerable experience running a professional team to ensure the efficient delivery of buildings on time and on budget and partner with a number of highly regarded professional consultants to maintain a consistant quality of delivery. These consultants include Davis Langdon, SKM Anthony Hunts, Max Fordham and Carter Jonas.

Through a unique ability to unlock the potential of sites by offering a product contributing to planning gain, we are able to maximise value for landowners. Frequently complex mixed use schemes or residential schemes require a proportion of training or employment use which can be difficult to deliver on a traditional basis. START, by creating an innovation centre can assist in meeting this requirement. We undertake a thorough market research assessment exercise before proceeding with any development, protecting the investment and ensuring success. We also have experience accessing grant funding and putting together complex private finance packages.
